Business World Educator Program
Real World Experience. Life-Changing Results.
What is Business World® for Educators?
A workshop designed for Wisconsin school teachers, guidance counselors and administrators to experience business first-hand through small group learning, large group presentations, online project postings, tours of Wisconsin companies, and the development of curriculum.
Business World for Educators is all new for 2010. This year’s program will focus on business and education partnerships, specifically around Wisconsin’s economy. This year’s participants will work together to produce a series of projects and presentations that can be shared by all. Every educator participating will take some aspect of Wisconsin’s economy – growing industries, specific sectors, workforce needs, regional areas of emphasis, best practices – and produce real life, real world curriculum to assist today’s students in learning about tomorrow’s careers. Participants will share ideas, critique proposals and ultimately present their findings. The finished product will include the complete collection of curricula produced.
Participants will meet many of the teacher standards under PI-34 including 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, and 10.
Carl Perkins funds can be utilized to support professional development at this conference.

"I learned at BW that we [teachers] need to better prepare our students for the world of work; offer them more exposure to businesses in the form of tours, job shadows, speakers, etc.
"I enjoyed the business tours part of the teacher program. It reinforced what I’m presently teaching and gave me additional information and insight into current trends."
